2009 JCW Clubman Repair History

I have had a number of what I would call major failures since I purchased my Mini. I love my car but the issues are a problem especially since I am now out of warranty. On 12/9/2010 the chain tensioner bolt backed out and all my oil flew out down the interstate. Camshafts leak is also noted in my repair history. I guess that goes without saying. Dealer repaired but my concern has always been the affects on my engine long term. 2/23/11 vacuum line deformed/distorted/bent. 8/3/2011 vehicle battery permanant failure (this has happened 3 times but only listed once). 3/31/2012 Aux water Pump. 7/10/2012 Exhaust Turbocharger (ALT) PERMA. Last week the other water pump failed and had to be replaced no longer under warranty. Today yellow engine light came on at lunch so I drove to the dealership for the diagnosis. Thermostat stuck open that will cost me. Car needs carbon blasting at a cost of 475.00 and oh yes the timing chain needs to be replaced but "Mini will cover that". Is this normal? I have never had a car with this kind of history. By the way yes I have done all the proper servicing and used the correct gas.

If I was the owner of that car, I would cut my losses and get rid of it.

Once the light is out go trade it in so some unsuspecting sucker can buy it.

My Clubbie has similar history and is ready for chain job. I made the the decision to start all over with a new JCW Countryman.
