Spring Cleaning

How many here are taking advantage of the Spring Cleaning promotion?

I am. How lucky that the promo came up

Same here, the timing was right. It's going to be tight, though. That July 1 deadline seems awfully close.

For my build...mine is being built and painted this week with scheduled delivery of June 15th. Yippee!!

What I don't get is how goofy some MA are. One MA checked with his GM and they said the discount didn't apply to builds.

Don't they realize consumers check around?

I drove a little and got the discount.

I did. Convinced me to order about a month earlier than I'd planned.

I did.

Dealer knocked an additional $750, on top of the $750 from the SC event.

Car is getting built!

How do these deals generally work on taking delivery on pre-built cars? I have a negotiated lease agreement in writing. Do the spring cleaning promos come from MINI USA such that I can argue for these additional incentives to be applied? Is the promo, and any coupons, available somewhere?

I've never taken advantage of a promo before...

Or does it only apply to order day, not delivery day?

To be eligible....you had to visit a Mini dealership April 20th or 21st (Sat/Sun) personally. It was all over the miniusa website. Big promo.

Sign up by completing a form with name, address, email, tele, etc. Then on Monday a certificate is emailed. To get the discount....provide the certificate and info to your motoring adviser. Viola....$500 discount if delivery is taken before July 1st...even if you built a car (unless you go to the first dealership I went to where the MA told me otherwise).

Yeah, my dealer was matching The money from MINI, and I was then able to negotiate a little more off beyond that. Not the best feel anyone has ever gotten, but low enough that I was comfortable with it.

Thank God I read this thread tonight.
I might be picking up my roadster as early as tomorrow(!) and I completely forgot about printing out that certificate!

The promo we used for the Coupe was similar... had to visit the dealer and register, then received an email with the voucher number. Some dealers didn't seem to know if it applied to built cars. The deadline was short, so you had to find a dealer with a build spot that was already close to going to production. You can also deal a bit more afterward, because you didn't sign a contract, your production order is non binding and your down is refundable. So you can work with your MA if you hope to shave a bit more off, and they can accept or refuse.

Absolutely. The spring cleaning incentive should be in addition to the negotiated price. The incentive is from MiniUSA and not provided from the dealer. Dealer doesn't kick anything into the discount.

Shameful that some dealers didn't know it applied to builds. Shame on them and that is how they lost business.

Order Day.

- Yea my car is custom ordered/built. Salesman even helped show me final colors and trims before I committed to them.

Its my understanding that the "stock cars on the lot" have about $1000 over invoice. Custom built cars are $2000 over invoice. With $1500 off, I felt that ordering a car, built to my specs for $500 is more than fair. Lets face it, I popped for a lot of goodies that *I* really wanted. (JCW steering wheel, Recaros, Headliner.. etc.). I felt so good after signing for it and dropping off a deposit check, my family went out to dinner!

Therefore you need that car built and at the dealership where you signed docs. Makes sense as you don't pay until you take delivery.

My mistake sorry. you are correct, I was thinking about the extra $250 taken off by April 30th orders...

DONT CARE ORDERED MY CAR, PIPER IS GETING BUILT!

All kidding aside, this is some of the most "fun waiting" since we had our kid.. brought a house.. got married... etc... kinda nice being an Adult and still feeling like a kid waiting for Christmas morning..

Yeah I got a great deal on the last two MINIs and felt it was a fair negotiation. I wouldn't look to the dealer to knock more off at delivery. Just checking if there were additional savings as many post here about car delivery scheduling anxiety. I understand now its the Spring Cleaning caveat of taking possession by 1 June.
Cheers!

Good news for me.... mine was loaded onto the boat (Tulane) and should be in Carson, CA on May 30th. I know it takes time to process and release to the dealer...but it sure is looking good !

I can't wait for my Mini.
