I registered but likely can not get there until Fri or Sat depending on my work load. I am going to have to go it alone......my friends ARE NOT interested in the 'Mini thing' & refuse to consider going. Oh well, I am a big girl & love to meet & make new friends!!! BUT I hate hate the Dragon!!! Sooooooo, I plan to go the other way & will meet folks there.......no crossing the Dragon for this chick!

 

I will be there with almost a 1000 of my closest friends.

 

May go. Live close by. jgc_tn - I'm with you on the dragon itself. Done that, was fun, but: too crowded, somewhat dangerous. To be fair, think it has improved some - better law enforcement, generally less public tolerance for antisocial behavior.... Cherohala Skyway is near by, offers some nice stopping places and vistas and connects with the Robbinsville, NC end of the Dragon is my personal favorite.

jgc and others - if you are approaching through Telico Plains, TN, I'd like to recommend Tellico Grains, a cool, eclectic sandwich shop - it is near the Cherohala visitors center and they can show you how to get there. Get the folks at Telico Grains to make you a to-go snack and have a nice picnic.

This event is so much fun! Interesting cross-section of people; male, female, 18 to 80 year olds, all having fun with Minis! People into driving, some spirited, some less so. All into talking about their cars. Enjoy!

Heck no! Im 59 and hubs is 62 and this is our second MOTD!!!! I know of lots of older MINIacs that are going!! We are a varied and diverse group of crazies...trust me...

 

My forth year going and each and every year it has gotten better ,
We at Minis of Miami rent a house and spend a week up there,we have a blast thru out the entire event.
Snooter puts a great event if not the best Mini event in the USA.
WE CANNOT WAIT TO BE AT SNOOTERVILLE .
On our way sat. 27th. and the bonus for me is my new 2013 JCW Coupe . yeah boi...

Age has zip to do with it , come young come old and have fun. You can and we have gone shotgun shotting, zip lining , jet boat rides , shopping , the fun is endless....

No driving up saturday 27th and spending the night in Georgia then driving the rest of the way..

 

Sadly, I am a bit late in finding out about this........just had my Mini for 3 wks so I have not made arrangements to cover work (really no biggie) but most of all lodging. Everything is booked tho I think I can get a room on Sat nite. I do hope several will still be there.

I know age does not matter but I really do not want to look like some 'cougar' hanging with the youngsters Besides, be coming by myself ..... my friends are not into the Mini thing. That just means I be making new friends

Cheftyguy, what route are you taking and if I95, what time do you think you will pass Savannah?

 

I'll be there Sunday to Sunday, camping at Fontana Dam. This is my first MOTD and first time on the Dragon.

Don't worry about the age number; I entered my 40s back in the 90s.
