Being a father of 2 I have been hesitating to get a mini due to size and the amount of gear I take when I go diving. In any case I finally found a used 2008 cooper S with all the options I have been looking for : sport, convenience, cold, premium package, 6 speed manual with pretty good red rooster interior.

Got the following installed: JCW tuning kit, JCW sport gauges, driving lights, strut bar, stubby antenna, racks, decal and JCW R105 with 215/35/18 tires. Putting sway bars, end links and suspension next. Holding off on BBK when my warranty expires.

 

Thats a nice looking car! It reminds me of my old mini. when I read the beginning of your post I automatically imagined you got a countryman congrats on your new mini!!

Welcome. That is a great looking MINI. Now, do I take the 2 kids or the 2 SCUBA tanks

 

:-) Hmm have not tried lugging the tanks but I have done it with four adults and bikes and ride is just fine. Even after installing H&R suspension which dropped the car 1.5 inches the ride is smooth if not better than stock. Hopefully that lasts for awhile:-)
