Engine shutdown!!!!!

Hello I have a 02 cooper s the engine shuts down at 115 mph, it causes the engine light to come on and the engine misses very badly I have to pull over shut the car off and restart it after a minute then it runs fine but has a #4 cylinder misfire. How can I eliminate this problem???

Sounds like you need to find the missfire issue...but running the car at such a highload/high speed, could be a hotspot.....Just a guess, but on a 10 year old car, it might be time for a valvejob, and maybe some rings...
But a compression check, etc would be a good start! It would lead you in the right direction..of solving the misfire...
Good thing you are on a track going 115 MPH!! That would be one hell of a ticket!!

Fuel pump inlet filter, inline fuel filter, fuel rail pressure/FPR valve. Cheaper things to check B 4 an engine tear down.

LOL except it is much higher and would not cause a CEL.

Compression and leak down test would be the cheapest to start to narrow it down.
