New member close to buying :)

Hi all,

I test drove a CPO Clubman yesterday (along with many other cars), and I'm sold. I love the little thing! It has more head room than our '07 Civic Si (I'm 6'2 and like to sit upright, so my head is in the moonroof hole in the Civic), it's quiet, and feels downright luxurious! If it's still there next Monday, I'm going to go down and buy it!

It was down to the Clubman or a Nissan Juke, but the Mini dealer works with my Credit Union, and the Mini is more fuel efficient, and has more headroom, and more cargo room, etc... etc... etc...

This will be my first car (I'm 19 in 2 days) and I can't wait! It's a wonderful deal because it has 40k miles and was purchased at the end of 2010, but I only drive 10k a year, so by the time I'm onto a new Mini in a few years, it will still be under warranty

If you can't tell, I'm super excited! Yay!

Thanks! I think I'm attracted to those little half doors because we had one of those 3 door saturns for 7 years of my childhood I'll rock them with pride!

Haha, I just googled it. That Saturn has a club door, crazy! I wonder if Hildebrand was inspired by those old Saturns.

Lol, I wouldn't be surprised. That was one of the biggest selling points of the whole car, and they were pretty popular for a few years

The RX8 had them, too. It's a decent solution for improving the ingress/egress of the rear seats.

The RX8 was also a great car, too bad rotary engines are so inefficient... Maybe someday as a weekend car

Lol, the CPO was important to me, as I know BMW/MINI can be expensive come repair time once it's out of warranty. This one is super affordable (I had given up on MINI's because I couldn't afford a good one ) because it has high miles for the year, and the saleswoman I was working with said her pre-owned manager prices their cars low to move inventory. Hopefully it will last until my day off next monday!

If you really want the car why take a chance that it'll sell before you can get there to make the purchase? Call the dealer, talk to your sales person, give them a credit card # to hold it for you until you can return on Monday. Don't leave it to chance if it's the car for you, it's way to easy to "lock it in" with just a phone call.

Yeah, no kidding. Bad combustion chamber geometry and no leverage over the eccentric shaft kill the engine's potential.

I read that Chevy was considering a 4-rotor engine for the mid-70s Corvette until the oil crisis thing.
