Greetings and Hallucinations!
Hello All,
Another Newbie here, just purchased a 2009 Cooper S BRG tin top, aside from the different roofs it's basically a twin to Andrew's convertible in the previous post even down to the wheels . Not my first Mini, though. My very first car was a '62 Morris Cooper 997 purchased in September of '69 for the princely sum of $250!

The photo shows my first autocross on March 22, 1970. Ironically this took place in the same parking lot used for the evening gathering of Mini Takes The States here in Des Moines this July! Ever since 1973 I've pretty much continuously owned both a British and a German car and am still an avid autocrosser with the Des Moines Valley Region of the SCCA. I'm going to have a tough decision next year as to whether to continue competing with my trusty old '71 MGB that I've been racing for the past 27 years or pressing forward with the MINI. I've already done one event with the MINI with the local Corvette club and will be taking on another airport runway next weekend with SCCA.
I'm looking forward to being part of the community here and learning more about this new fangled British/German machine!
