New (Soon to be) Mini Owner - Kansas

Hi everyone. I've been lurking here for quite awhile as I’ve been shopping for a 07+ MCS to be my commuter car. I think I’ve finally found a good deal and went on a test drive yesterday and I was impressed.

The car I’m looking at:
07 PS/B MCS
Black Cloth
Premium Package
17” Crowns
DSC, armrest, Front/Rear Fogs

45k miles
$13500

I’m buying from the second owner who had it at 12k miles. He was rear ended in 2010, with $3k in repairs to the rear bumper and mounting brackets.

The car is in immaculate condition, no dings or rock chips I could find. I’ve done quite a bit of digging for a R56 buyer’s guide without much luck (R50/53 are readily available) so I thought I would see if anyone has advice on key inspections/maintenance for the R56 MCS.

Thanks everyone!

Check the timing chain tensioner (for clatter from a cold start), thermostat and water pump for leakage. If it seems down on power at all there could be carbon build up on the back of the valves.

I love my '07.
