New R56 owner in SF
Finally got to first gear, hello NAM!
There are MINIs everywhere in beautiful San Francisco- literally everywhere.. so I'm just another number here.
I'm excited about using this site and have learned so much already just from digging around. Years ago I owned a VW Corrado VR6 and learned just about everything I knew about that car from web forums, and local meet-ups. And that forum was MUCH smaller in comparison to the wealth of information and collaboration here.
In a somewhat coincidental homage to my old Corrado, the MCS I purchased is a very similar Green with Tan (Polar Beige) interior. So the first time I sat in it, there was a familiar "old friend" feel to it. It's a 2008 MCS with 27k miles.
So far, (owned for about 3 weeks now) it seems like the perfect mix for a commuter (great gas mileage, comfortable interior), fun (yes very fun go kart handling!), and small (oh my god I can fit in so many parking spaces here now). It really is a great city car with the small exception of run flat tires being bumpy, but I will blame crappy upkeep of city streets for that.
Looking forward to using this forum even more now.

Congrats on your purchase! MINIs are great cars, even better in green (tho I could be biased
). You'll find a very enthusiastic enthusiast group here, and hopefully have a chance to meet up w/local owners for some in-person fun & frivolity.
Drive 'er in good health, and Happy Motoring!

Welcome!
A big advantage you have right now, when it comes to your RFTs is that with 26,000 miles you're that much closer to needing to replace them. When you do, there is a $40.00 tire repair kit on Amazon.com that is all you need to have in order to run conventional tires.
