Announce me!

Alright, I'll announce myself.

Howdy, Fellas. Newbie here. First post. 1 week into (2003 BRG non-S) ownership and FULL of questions.

First question: a 2003 MINI glovebox doesn't lock, does it?

The convertible has a locking glovebox. You can source one from a junkyard (no key though) or buy one from MINI.

My turn for questions, why?

Sorry, I should have explained. Three letters: N, Y, C.

Sometimes it nice to leave the windows down when you leave your car briefly to photograph someone being mugged. Ya know, without having to worry about your sunglasses getting lifted.

PS I have to say it is a bit odd. I've never owned a car that had a glovebox I couldn't lock.

Next question: what's the deal with the button that clicks when you "floor" the throttle (on a CVT).

It appears to kickdown a gear. Maybe? Do I need to keep it "clicked down" or just click and release and modulate with throttle. Can't find much reference to it in the owner's manual.

Oh, car of confusion...
