Talked to my MA yesterday, my Mini has been released and assigned a carrier, should be at the dealer Friday, Saturday is the event, delivery Monday or Tuesday.

Great news! But I was just curious to know why the delivery is Monday or Tuesday. If you wanted to pick it up Friday, would you have been able to? Or does the dealer need to keep it a day or two?

 

Molly how is it going? Did your Mini come in?

 

I have not heard from my MA recently. Last we spoke we knew it was on the Calif, she expects it on the 15th at the dealership. Since I am headed to Oregon before that I will be flying into OKC to pick it up on the 20th. With the move and all I have plenty to keep me busy but I still can't wait.

He's waiting for his dealership's 'not normal' sales event on Saturday, so he can claim the $750 rebate. Can't claim it if he takes delivery before the event..

 

Sure is - if I didn't have kids, I would have looked at the coupe or roadster myself.

Ask Mini finally says I'm at Distribution center...

 

Sorry, I should've phrased my question better. I know about the rebate and having to wait until your dealership holds the event, but he said the event was Sunday but delivery was Monday or Tuesday. I was just wondering if we have to wait a couple more days after our MINIs get to the dealerships before we can pick them up, even if we aren't waiting for the sales event.

 

ASK MINI still says I'm "at port awaiting shipping vessel," but OL just changed to at distribution center.

 

Ooops, I meant to say OL says at Distribution center...

 

Just found something interesting. When I track my MINI through the OL and go to the "review order detail" page, a new line of text appears showing the "estimated delivery date." This only showed up after my status changed to at distribution center.

 

'Dealer Prep' comes to mind. I'm not really sure about all that entails...or how much they [try to] charge you.

 

Yay, mine says est. 10/14 for delivery. My MA was off yesterday so I'm hoping to hear something soon... Would love to be able to pick it up tomorrow before my drive to see family. But I don't think that's going to happen.

 

Cool info about the Owner's Lounge. Although it seems to be down for maintenance at the moment.

However... I PICK UP MY CAR TODAY! It's been a long wait as I ordered it back in July. Didn't know about the British holiday. The car is about 16 miles away and it's raining this morning. Perfect weather for a first drive, I think.

Owners Lounge ETA at dealership says 10/15, which is next Monday. But my MA said she estimates it will be at the dealership "late next week". So we'll soon see how much difference there is on OL ETA and MA ETA.
