Mines on the same ship it's gone another day late, (now due on the21st in Halifax), and should be in Jersey City on the 23rd. Sounds like we have sea sick cars from rough weather. Hope none are damaged! Especially ours! Originally Posted by psichick

New info she's down to 2Knots and only 70mi. from Halifax. Sounds like she's stacked up awaiting a berth at the dock.

We ordered hood stripes as a factory installed option that were invoiced as no charge. The MA also added them on as a dealer option for $190. I asked why stripes were on the order form twice and he said it was a glitch in the system. The MA said that if the car is delivered to the dealer with stripes installed, he'll take off the $190. So how do I know and is there anything I can do short of stalking the docks of Baltimore?
Sneak in when your MA is off and go directly to the service department and ask who checks the Minis in when they arrive. Ask that person if they usually come with the stripes pre-installed, beyond that you can always show up the day it is delivered to the dealer as most don't have time to install that type of stuff same day as they are usually too busy with the paperwork and just inspecting the cars from my understanding.Originally Posted by Dog Boy

I have had the Mini rubber floor mats from Mini in my JCW and they've worked out very nicely. Plus, the dealer thru them in with the deal. Usually, if you suggest it right, will do that.Originally Posted by weaf27

Shucks, try it, what's the worse thing that they can do, turn you down? Then maybe they will do what they did for me. After-all, you are spending just a few bucks with them, and probably on many of Mini's over priced options like I am.1st Gear

Any 1st hand experience and/or visual preferences? Trying to justify them as anything that only costs about $100 and will protect my floors better than the standard mats might just be an easy choice but would prefer to get some feedback and see them first.

Minis come with basic carpeted floor mats but has anyone seen the Rubber Floor mats that are optional? I am seriously considering these as I think they will look better and do a better job of protecting the carpet beneath them.Any 1st hand experience and/or visual preferences? These are what I picked up after I got home with mine.

Good news this morning, Owners Loung finally caught up with ASKMINI this morning, so I am more inclined to believe that it is NOW in the production stage. You can call people, and sure, I want to believe what they say, but I still prefer to see it in print. Now, here we go!

While I understand the sentiment - trust me the OL is the last place to get updated... Heck, if I go by what the OL is saying, my car is still on the pier in Bremerhaven - even though I have confirmation from the shipper that it's been on a ship for the past week!Originally Posted by hemisedan

Odds are the OL will still show your MINI still at the VDC or awaiting transport several days after you have taken delivery...

Any more Jacksonville, FL soon to be Mini Owners on here? My MA told me that there should be another one of his customers on NAM. Just checking...

Best bet is if your MA is worth her/his salt will keep you updated, otherwise there's no telling where your MINI is the process.Originally Posted by hemisedan

I wonder why MINI even provides status reports on the OL. You'd think that they could get it right after ten years...or at least realize they should scrap it to reduce the complaints.Originally Posted by mbabischkin

Mine says awaiting transportation, for the last 16 days. It's actually just arrived in Halifax aboard the Manon. MOL should stand for Mainly Oldfashioned Lazy. Originally Posted by hemisedan

Speaking about the Owners Lounge and their updates, they still have my JCW inroute to the dealer. That was three years ago. Didn't even get it to the dealers, let alone delivered. So, I know what you meanOriginally Posted by mbabischkin

I agree - but the thing is, there are still folks who's only contact with the community is through the OL. It's crazy, but there are folks who ONLY go there for information and refuse to go elsewhere, and as long as those folks exist I don't think there's a lot of a push to revamp the steaming mess that is the OL...Originally Posted by Deli

I'm in Tampa also. I'm hoping our cars will get to the VDC tomorrow. I'm not sure if they work on the weekends or not prepping cars. They still need to tint the windows at the dealership. I'd really like to pick it up next Fri, Mar 1st.

I had the same problem as you. I was told that MINI does not allow silver stripes on a Reef Blue Coupe when my dealer tried to order it and kept getting errors. As you see in my siggy, I built it that way, as it was part of the JCW exterior package. My MA argued with MINI, but they wouldn't install them at the factory. I'm getting them installed (parts and labor) free of charge by my dealer because I put up a fight about it. If you can build it that way, they should honor it. For grins, I tried to build one recently and they've corrected the error and you can no longer add the stripes. Originally Posted by Dog Boy

I would defintely have an issue with the $190, since you built the car that way at no extra charge.
Good luck. Hope all works out for you.

Wow. ASK MINI is finally showing me 'at the port' as of the 18th! I hope this means I'll catch the next ship next week on the 26th (Tongala). I assume it's been in transport to the dock since the 7th when they confirmed completion and I stupidly expected it to be on time for the two ships that have set sail since then.
Needless to say I'm thrilled!
I will be anxiously awaiting all of the MINI **** from you folks that are soon to meet your new babies to coax me through the next month's arduous wait.
Popcorn. Lots of popcorn.

My MA called today and said my Mini would be in town the middle of next week. Dunno what's worse, not knowing anything for weeks on end of suffering through the last week before it gets here.....sigh.....

We are on the way to N.Y., well Jersey City. Cue the theme from the Sopranos, pan past the Carpet Man Statue, show the Pulaski Skyway! We are on our way to the dock for unloading.

A few days delay from the original schedule but happy that its only two days away from docking. My MINI dealer is 45 minutes away from the VDC so I'm hoping to pick it up by the end of the month! Originally Posted by Twstgrp

Same here as I have family in Tampa and Lake Wales (just SW of Orlando) plus WPB area too, so basically I am all over FL all too often. Currently I am trying to get my company to pay for me to go to Boca next month so I can bring my Mini if it is broken in by then.Originally Posted by ChefTyGuy
