New Mini owner & question about dog crates

Hello! I'm a brand new Mini owner. I just picked up my 2012 Mini Cooper Hardtop in ice blue yesterday

I have a 25lb. West Highland White Terrier than I occasionally take on short jaunts with me in the car. When I drove my Volvo S40, 4-door, he would just ride in a crate, (much like this one, medium size: http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...ductId=3623612) in the back seat.

With the two-door and the hatchback though, I'm wondering how others configure their dog crates so they are stable and don't jostle or tumble...since the back is uneven with the seats down.

A few things to consider: the dog really has to ride in a crate. I've tried doggie seatbelts with him and he doesn't handle that so well. He has some anxiety in the car. I'm happy to buy a different type of crate though. I also don't want the set up to be so arduous that it's not easy to undo in a couple minutes, as the majority of the time the dog is not in the car with me.

Appreciate any insights or photos of other people's set-ups.
Thanks so much!
Kathleen

Congrats on the new MINI Love that color!

Maybe you could try slipping the seatbelt through the handle on the top of the crate and buckling it in? I haven't carted around any dog crates (yet); only dogs in the front seat
