New to me 2009 MINI Cooper S
Hey guys... stumbled across this site while absorbing information about my new-to-me Cooper S.

2009 Cooper S, 6-speed, everything but Nav. I have been a Saab guy for years, starting with a '94 9000 Aero, into a '99 Viggen, and then into an '08 9-3 I bought new. Before those, I had my '01 VW Golf 1.8T, then realized I hate the VW scenesters
I remember when the Italian Job remake came out, and they had the lead stunt driver from the movie do a demo out in the mall parking lot. I enjoyed the movie, the demo was amazing (parallel parking via powerslide in the wet
), and had a lot of fun on my subsequent test drive of a Cooper S. Always loved the cars but hated the price tag.
Decided I wanted to downsize my car payments, and perhaps car. I was looking used, something manual and fun. Not a whole lot out there I'll tell you. I really wanted an Audi TT, but when the two I found for sale got snatched out from under me, it wasn't meant to be. Came across a lot of Mini's for sale and decided to check them out.
Originally went to look at an 05 MCS in BRG, but as soon as I saw the blue 09 I was done (blue is my fav color). They gave me a decent trade in value on the 9-3 and here I am.
Still can't believe I have a Mini. It's amusing how I can park badly in my garage yet it doesn't matter, I have three feet of clearance in any direction
Love the car, love the engine and transmission action. The stereo... well let's just say I've had clock radios with better audio quality. But that can (and will) be rectified. Also not a fan of the fact that it has a USB port but requires a special USB cable for my iPhone, and even then, it still needs to be jacked into the headphone port. Silly BMW.
I missed having a hatch. We stuffed a lot of crap in the back of mine already to move my girlfriend in.
Been reading the highly informative thread on dealing with the lackluster audio. Also seeing what people are doing for wheel choices and personalizing theirs, that old itch to mod is returning :D And race! I haven't really done any autocross or drag racing since my Viggen, 5 years ago.
Anyway, anyone around Minneapolis, wave at the blue and white MCS
