This this is what is what its like to drive a mini...
Hello. Just wanted to introduce myself.

I bought a new 2004 Mini Cooper (auto, 57k miles on it) to add to the stable for my girlfriend. We use it as a commuter car around town. So far we really enjoy driving in it.

For now i'm just trying to clean it up and get it back to good shape.

I assume your Mini has a CVT. You need to research the issues associated with that transmission.
