Dual Clutch Question?
Dual Clutch Question?
Dual-Clutch in Mini Cooper 2012 Question?
In my old 2003 Lancer with manual transmission, as long as the clutch was fully depressed (to the floor) I could keep it down for as long as I wanted and would not need to worry about wearing or riding out the clutch, but as for the Mini Cooper Dual-Clutch, how is this any different?
I understand you are not supposed to depress the clutch for an extended period of time without shifting gears.....as my MINI dealer told me....
However, when crossing over on coming traffic and waiting for the last car to pass, can you keep the car in first with the clutch depressed for these three to four second instances?
Another example is holding down the clutch in first gear at a stop sign for four or so seconds?
Is this okay?
I never ride the clutch, however, keeping it fully depressed in these instances has always been a natural instinct to me.
THANKS!
