Just a quick intro- picked up my new ice blue mini last week. This is my first and I absolutely am smitten. This is the funnest car I have ever driven. I have 3 kids and so far we have managed just fine in my little blue bumper car, as they call it. Look forward to conversing with you all.

 

Gorgeous color choice, congrats on the new car! Did you order, or just find what you wanted off the lot?

I started out with a first generation MINI and replaced it with a second... Once you get into these cars you just can't even think about replacing one with anything but another... Well, I can't anyway!

 

Lovin' the Ice Blue! It's what I picked, I'm still not seeing many on the road.

We actually performed a "go for ice cream" test-sit in the showroom to see if we could get the four adults who live at our place (myself, my wife, and her parents) in the car at once with me (6'0") driving. We did manage, albeit with a bit of seat-scootching and so forth, and it's cozy for sure (!).

Congrats on your new ride, I'm sure kids are just as smitten with it if not more so!

 

Thanks for the warm welcome. I ordered my car- and haven't seen any other ice blues on the road either. I would have gotten one off the lot, but none of them had the mini connected- which was a must on my short list. Only regret is not getting the climate control; not too big of a deal, but after a few days, i can tell I shoulda splurged on it.

 

It's a color that looks great on them. I'd built a few on MINIUSA, mostly all black or greys. I'd cross-shopped Beetle Turbos, they have a similar color "Denim Blue", but won't build a Turbo in that color (!). We went to test drive a MINI just to cross it off the list, not suspecting that a) it would be such a blast to drive, or b) that you could special order them so many ways. Our MA took us on a tour of the lot, and I stopped dead in my tracks at the first Ice Blue one. That was it!

Mine's due in early April...seems like a LONG time away!

 

I'll chime in with more kudos on your color choice! I hadn't seen it in person til I'd already ordered mine--much cooler in person! Has a certain "feel" --not sure if its retro or cutting edge (maybe both? LOL) Agree with you on the "fun" factor. After a decade of buying a new car every year or two and never quite bonding with any of them, I cant imagine a car that would suit me more at any price.

 

Congrats on your new ride! I just got my Ice BLue with black on the last day of January and I LOVE the color. I haven't seen any others driving around, but there was one on the lot when I ordered that has since sold. Enjoy!
