Afraid I'm too useless to try Valvashon's fix for my key so I want to know if there's anyone in the LA area that won't rip me off on a key?
My local dealer wants to charge $85 flat rate to do the electronics, the pigs...

 

Ouch- that's too much. You can send me the key (assuming you have the other one to use) and I'll do it for you for the cost of the parts. If you ordered the new case from the seller from China include that otherwise I will get one and also a new battery if it needs it. It's an easy fix (1/2 hour or less now that I've done one); waiting for the shell from China will take a couple of weeks or so. You can PayPal me or even send a check or MO when I finish. I'll PM you with my address and some more info.

I'm located in Long Beach and am using the valet key now...
Had thought of taking the other one with me on errands this afternoon hoping to find a rational dealer but your suggestion sounds exceptional!
