Steering Whine

Hello all,

Just bought an '05 S and am hearing a whine when steering at low speeds - especially when parking. Any thoughts?

That's just one of the quirks of the MINI. Welcome to the club!

FYI, it's the electric motor of the EPS system. Ever hear a cheap snowplow? Same deal, electric motor driving a hydraulic pump. It's perfectly normal, so don't fret it.
