Well after MANY years of wanting a mini, today I finally got one! And I think I started my mini ownership with a bang, got myself an '06 JCW, it is really loaded up per my signature, and the best part is it only has 18,000 kilometers on it! Got it inspected and the mechanic said "great find", I agree.
Looking forward to learning more about these cars, sure love it so far. Have been really wanting one since my grandma sold her 1980 a few years back with 30,000 KM!!

I don't have that problem. I switch the computer screen on the tach to something like outside temp. so I only know what my engine is revving at not how fast I am going....

Only was an option for 1st gen MINIs...




As you can see, the center console held a cluster of gauges for the engine. The speedo was shrunken down and moved next to the tachometer.
