New kid in town

I just got my 2009 chili red MCS JCW in last week and am loving it! I sold my 2008 Lancer Evolution with 6,500 miles on it and bought my mini and have absolutely no regrets! She's a really sweet ride!

Well, haven't spent as much time in MCS but first impressions are:
Not as fast, holds the road well but not quite as well as AWD on the EVO.
MPG is a whole lot better. Visibility much better in MCS. Seats not as comfortable as EVO equipped with Recaros. Interior plus for the MCS as well as accessibility to all controls. Overall I am extremely happy with the MCS and I'm sure that the more time I spend in her will put the EVO further behind me!

When I bought the EVO it was between the MC and it and I went with the EVO. I just never drove it since I bought it new, wanted to keep it perfect, and never drove it in the rain. It was just wasting away in my garage so i decided to sell it to someone who would drive it and finally get the MCS JCW that I always wanted. While the EVO was fast and handled great it wasn't a MC and I love the compact feel and go-cart ride of the MC.

Congrats on the MINI!! Just spent some time with a dude who has an Evo - something like 400 hp in it. He absolutely loves it but when it came to gas mileage he got real quiet... 8-10 mpg. If he goes ahead and does the injectors it'll go to 6. Yeah, I'll take the MINI!

Yeah, mine wasn't that crazy, had a few mods...upper and lower intakes, air can, blow-off valve and if I drove it conservatively (like a maw maw) I got 20 mpg! Now I can have fun driving and get 30+. No brainer

yea going from a four wheel drive to front wheel drive, their is a big difference, though its just a matter of changing the driving style. but they can hold their own when set up right!

The EVO stopped being good at the end of the IX's, when the 4B11 came out I was done with them. Just cant compare to the 4G63!

As a former EVO owner myself (and there are some others on the forum) welcome to NAM. Enjoy your MINI, they are special.

Definitely different than the EVO, but different in a better way! Slowly getting used to the front wheel drive. Gotta say that I love the look of the X though.
