Hello. New to Mini and having already a question about the flywheel.

Hello all,

Just purchased my first Mini. A 2006 Base Cooper with CVT transmission.
I've read some nasty things about it ( the tranny), but I'm willing to take my chances.
However... I've purchased it with the engine locked and I'm fixing it. Already disasembled and found out that one piston rod was broken, from water ingestion or indigestion Its fixable, so I have no worries.

After dissasembling the engine, I've came upon the flywheel or flex plate. I'm seeing that is made from to plates and I can rotate one against the other, not too much, but a few degrees. I can do it with ease, which concerns me. I'm not sure if is ok to do that.
Does any one know if this is ok or not? Before I go ahead and purchase a new one...

I may have some other questions along the way... but this is the one for now.

Anyway... I'm happy that I could get this car... I've wanted it for some time.

Thank you.
