Time to shift

Seems it took me a while to find first gear!! Anyway, we bought our new to us 2007 mcs a couple of weeks ago in Naperville, Il. Interestingly, we went there from our home in Iowa City, Ia to buy a 2009 mcs from the Mazda dealer in Naperville. When we got to the Mazda dealership the 2009 was not as described by the sales person. As we walked out rather disenchanted, we noticed the Naperville Mini Dealer down the street. A couple of hours later we drove out with a very nice 2007 chill red/white top manual mcs. It was $1,500 less and had a few K miles less than the 2009.
We're having a ball driving our new mini and look forward to participating and learning on this Forum. Regards and my best to all forum members, Ron

Haha, cool beans. Welcome to the not so little world of MINI. If you are interested in MINI Clubs, then there are two predominant clubs in Iowa

http://www.easterniowaminis.com/

and

http://www.centraliowaminiclub.org/

Let's Motor!

Welcome to insanityville. Have you order your first mods yet? This is def a car that will grow on you and you will find yourself defending it when hit with defiling slanders like "hows your girlie car?" or "how many hamsters fit in there?"
Happy motoring, your adventure is just beginning. Find a local club and go on some runs, they are great, and you have to see the looks when 20 Coopers go buzzing past, it really gets some stares and finger pointing. Even my kids have become involved, a good time had by all ....................

Forgot to mention it, I used to live in Iowa (around Council Bluffs). Moved down here to Alabama 9 years ago and love it. No more cold, cold winters. Went on a rally with Sunshine Mini Club of Pensacola yesterday. 20 cars showed up on this one and had a rally through hilly and twisty roads for an hours and a half. Then went to lunch. Great car and good people in the clubs.
ENJOY
