Is ASK MINI and MINI.com a few days behind tracking?
It seems like ASKMINI and MINI.com have been behind by a few days to a week at every step of the way. Has that been the case with others here who've been tracking their Minis?
They are almost never up to date. They can sometimes be weeks apart. Depends on the type of car, how often it's updated and more factors than we can even imagine probably. It's not an accurate gauge of where your car actually is at any given moment in time.
Agreed, the MINI OL is inaccurate to the point of being useless. It seems to be more of a feel-good facade than a useful tracking tool. Considering the bad data and lack of forum activity, I'm really not sure what purpose it serves at all, really...
For fun, after seeing this thread, I just checked my account to see what status my car was in, and it says it's sitting at the VDC, when in fact I've been motoring in it for over 2 months now!

I think the OL and the Call MINI are just ways to divert our attention from the anticipation. I went through this before and it was the same.
Right now the OL says the convertible is awaiting transport, but checking the WW line it was loaded on the 11th and is underway.
The phone MINI line was up to date saying it is in transport, so at least one of the methods worked. I knew it was loaded before my MA though. He was happy to hear it as he knows how OC I am. I still have a video with music of the first MINI's ship going through the Panama Canal. It was an all day wait to watch it go through the locks, but worth it. Kind of like a birth canal for those of us on the West Coast.
