Soon To Be Proud Mini Owner
In a couple of weeks I will be picking up a new to me 2005 MCS. My father-in-law bought it new to use as his "fun car" and it has accumulated just 21,000 miles. Last year he bought a 2010 Shelby GT500 so the Mini doesn't get the attention that it use to and he has been thinking of getting rid of it. As luck would have it I am looking for a smaller more fuel efficient car than my Mazda CX-9 that's also fun to drive and the MCS is pretty much a perfect fit. I'm anxious to bring it home.
The first order of buisness will be getting ready for winter (and ski season) with new set of wheels and snow tires. From reading on the site it seems like most common issue I should be concerned with is cracking or mushrooming of the strut mounts. With the lousy roads in Ohio I guess that some reinforcements for the strut towers are in order as well.
Is there anything else I should be on the look out for or upgrading?
