Hi all, just wanted to get on here and put up a first post. I'm Jack, and I just bought a 2005 Cooper S yesterday. It's got the 6 speed, is Black Eye Purple, and has a bit under 39k miles on it. The color definitely grabbed me, as this is the first one of that color that I've seen. I've got a decent history with sporty cars, having owned a WRX and a GTO in the past. This one definitely feels a bit faster than the WRX was, and handles way better than the GTO. Knowing me, it will most likely end up with a few mods on it, although I'm not really sure where I'll start.

I did have a question though. It has the checkerboard cover on the back of the interior rear view mirror. Does anyone know if that is just a cover that I could pop off, or does it replace the black cover that comes from the factory?

 

Sounds to me, you're already on your way to the first mod!

Got the cover off. FWIW it just pulled off. Had some kind of double sided tape around the edges of it. I've ordered an auto up window module and a Mini Madness intake for it.
