Greetings! My search didn't come across a Week 27 Support Group thread, so I started this new one.

My name is Jon and I'm in the Dallas area. My 2012 MB/MB MCS, "Groo" is currently at the port of exit waiting to be assigned to a ship. I ordered my car on Saturday, June 25. So far everything is going quicker than expected until getting to the port where it seems to be taking a bit of time to get a shipping assignment.

I recently started hanging out a bit on MetroplexMini.org, the local DFW club, what a fantastic group of people!

Anyways, just a shout out to any fellow Week 27'ers who need support through this stressful time!

I ordered my MCS Convertible 6/30/12 and it is also at the port waiting for the ship which I believe is to depart on 7/18 on WW Cargo. Mine is to be delivered to NY so it's possible both our cars are going to travel together so I hope they have fun on their cruise! A great resource for tracking "Groo" is to go to this thread - lots of great info if you haven't already seen this.

Cool, thanks acorrea! Hopefully we will hear something soon. Today is the end of day 10 since my car was completed, but it's still sitting at the port and my MA still shows no booking info.

 

It looks like if it's going to get loaded on the Falstaff, it will depart the Southhampton port on 7/19 and get to NY on 7/29. I am going to check on 7/19 or 7/20 on the following website to verify my car has been loaded with the VIN. I'm not sure if because you are in Dallas if you will be on the same ship but your MA will be your best bet for updates from this point forward. I wish us both the best of luck and looking forward to getting our Mini's.

Update! Did a little sleuthing and figured that the only possible option time-wise would be that Groo is aboard K-Line's "Florida Highway".
Emailed that info to my MA who promptly turned around and confirmed it. Groo should hit Charleston, SC on Saturday, July 30!!
Then I get to wait again! :D

Well it seems today has been a very eventful day as I also confirmed that my Mini was boarded onto the Liberty and will arrive in Baltimore MD on 7/28. At least the wait from the time it arrives to the time it gets to the dealership should not be that much longer. My MA let me know that they expect to receive our Mini the first week of August - woohoo!!

 

My MINI Countryman was ordered 5/23 and then spent the next month in the first circle of Hell, when they ran out of parts for Conn/Nav....it was finally produced by 6/27. Considering this, I think you guys are moving along quite nicely!

Quick question to anyone tracking their ship. I was able to find my ship easily by call sign ("Florida Highway", 3EPT6) on the site that Jerseygirl referenced, but the data shows that it left on Saturday the 16th, which is earlier than I thought. All cool there, only issue is that it hasn't updated its location since the 16th, showing that it's still in the English Channel. Is that normal? Upon looking at other cargo ships, some of them had information as current as 5 minutes ago.

I swear I've spent more effort in tracking a car on a boat than I did in total on homework in all my schooling combined!

 

Sub...hmmmm, that does seem strange that it says the 16th and today is the 20th. Wonder why it hasn't updated? I wouldn't worry...it's probably just a computer technical error with the updating....or...the ship is sinking....no,no,no.....don't listen to me...I'm a smart ***.
It's fine...I actually remember a few people complaining that their ship wasn't updating. It's fun to keep checking anyway...I'll keep checking on your ship too! Hang in there! :-)

 

Well, actually, the dot is moving. It's just the date that hasn't changed. It shows it started off in Southampton....and has been moving right along.

 

See, that's what I was thinking, but... according to SailWX and MarineTraffic.com, they both show identical data that the last update was on 7-16. I know the ship moves slow, but if it has been sailing for more than 3 full days, then it has to be way beyond the English Channel? Who knows, I'm probably confused, but check this link and at the left it says "Voyage Related Info, Last Received" and it lists 7-16-11 at 22:34, which is only 8 hours after it shows it left port. And that info jives with the picture on SailWX of it in the channel...

Jon....Your MINI is apparently on a 'k' Line ship, not 'WW'.....so I found this schedule....

If you don't have 20/20 vision (sarcasm) you'll have to blow it up. Your ship is listed on here though.
I can't find anything that says there is a problem either , so that's good...No news reports about ships on fire or sinking at it's last location. (haha) It must be some kind of tech malfunction.
I'll continue to look, I'll let you know if I find anything exciting!

Here is a live map...left click and hold lets you move the map around. I wasn't able to find the Falstaff or the Florida Highway....but, I'm thinking that's because both of them are out of range....which is a good thing...they are closer to home. It's still fun to play with though.

Thanks for this one, hadn't seen it yet. Unfortunately for me, it also shows my ship as not being updated since it left on the 16th. Guess I'll have to wait and hope some more!

Oh, and I did see the K-Line pdf, that's what I originally used to determine which of their 2 ships I would be on.

Hello! I am also on the Florida Highway and waiting for my MCS,CR ordered on July 1. My MA tells me it is scheduled to arrive on July 27th at the Brunswick, GA port. This is my first MINI and the wait is killing me. I have pretty much been through the same steps as Subzero. Thank you Subzero and jerseygirl.

JEdwards: congrats on our MINIs making it to the VDC! Mine made it to Charleston SC right after it dropped off your car in Brunswick. Just curious where you are located and if you have an ETA for the car arriving at the dealership? The Owner's Lounge actually shows an estimated delivery date of TODAY, which I know isn't possible.

Hey Jon: I followed the Florida Highway until it dropped your car off in Charleston. I am in Easley, SC and the dealership is in Greenville, SC. I have an ETA of July 31 and obviously that didn't happen either. But....while I was typing this message my MA called and said my car arrived today!!! They will be putting the clear bra on it tomorrow or Wednesday and I will be able to pick it up Wednesday evening. I hope you receive similar news very soon. Please keep us updated. J

Beyond great news!!! "Groo" arrived at MINI of Plano late last night! The JCW suspension and tuning kit still need to be installed, but I should pick him up in the next day or so! I'm going to the dealership tonight to get most of the paperwork squared away, so I will update you all as I get more info. Thanks for all of your support!

I have to say that little kids on Christmas morning couldn't possibly comprehend what I'm feeling right now....woohoo!!!!!!

 

That is great! Jon what does the hp jump to with the tuning kit on the 2012? Congratulations and looking forward to some pics.

 

I will actually have to find out for sure, but I *think* it's 198. It was 192 but I think the base HP of the 2011-2012 models increased a bit. I will get the lowdown on that tonight and let you know for sure. Pics to follow, you can count on that!
