New Mini owner checking in
Someone left a card for the forum on my car yesterday at Cars & Coffee in Charlotte so I went ahead and signed up. Just wanted to say hello in here, too.
I've never had a major interest in Minis... always just saw them and thought "That's a pretty cool car." Then last week, my 02 WRX started having more cooling problems, blew up the radiator, and I've just grown tired of fixing it... so I wanted something more sane. We went to the local Mazda dealer to look at Mazda 3s. I told the salesman I didn't care if it's coupe or hatch or what options it has, my only requirement is a straight drive so I can AutoX it. He didn't have anything new or used with a straight drive, but when he heard "AutoX" his eyes lit up.
That's when he brought out the Cooper S. It's a 2010 with 11,000 miles on it, and it was love at first drive.
We ended up going back two days later without even having a car to trade-in and picked it up. How can you pass up a car THAT fun that's still capable of 34mpg?! Commuting to work is entertaining, but I can't wait to get it out on track and have some fun with it!
