New owner in SC

Just bought a 2011 MCCS on Friday. It is Midnight Black with Silver Roof and C-pillars, manual. So far so good.

Thanks for the welcome. I looked at joining a group but seems that they are all some distance from me. Might join one anyway....

Disappointed in GA!!

I just purchased a new base MINI automatic Velvet Silver Black Hardtop and I am absolutely furious!? I purcharsed the automobile only 7 days ago and on day number 6 taking my friend to lunch and showing off my new baby.....My baby completely shut down when I came to a stop at traffic lights, stop signs, and after making turns. I called the dealership and they told me to bring it in the next day. Of course I live over two hours away and could not get time off from work to take the car in. I was to call the service department to reschedule after the July 4th holiday. Wellllllllllllllllll, I tried driving the car to work the next day and it got worse. I drove with the AC and radio full blast on and off and still the same results. I immediately called the dealership service department and spoke with my service rep that was assigned to me upon purchace. I told him I did not feel safe driving the car and certainly would not take the chance of driving to Atlanta in that awful traffic and risk having the car shut down on 75S or 285! He agreed and the car has been towed to the dealership. Not sure yet what I want to do especially since I bought this vehicle new with only 10 miles on it. I feel like I have a lemon for sure and am praying for the right decision to make. Very Disappointed in GA.

Pattyg, first I would recommend posting this as a new thread so people would be able to help you better.
Secondly, I'm sorry about the car. Sometimes things like this can happen and it can be linked to a very small problem that can be fixed without a doubt. I have had nothing but amazing service and honesty from the people at my MINI dealership so I have no doubt that they will help you out until you get your problem resolved. They jump through a lot of loops to make their customers happy. At least that's the experience I've had. Keep us updated on what happens. Good luck! I know it's frustrating! I've been sold a lemon before... Not fun.

Another newbie

Hi! I, too, just purchased a new MCC in the same colors. Not the S for me, but still loads of fun on the western NC mountain roads. I purchased it in Greenville, SC. The buying experience was less than I would have hoped for, but hopefully service experiences will go well. The dealership didn't inform me of the $500 available to buyers of manual transmissions, so that money is now in their collective pockets. I did get the sport package for free.

Enjoy your new MINI and I hope to see you on the road. I'm driving this a good bit, and my old BMW motorcycle is getting jealous.

Cheers to all and glad to be part of the group, too.
