Yippie! Newest Clubman Owner
Hi All,
Thanks for all your previous posts which did help me make the decision to join the club. I luv the enthusiasm for your Mini's!
I went to the dealer to get a Cooper S and ended up with a Clubman. I liked the extra space in the back and the side door, especially for someone getting a bit older (okay not that old now but I plan to keep my new baby for a long time....). I drive about an hour each way to work through Philadelphia so it is a lot of stopping a starting which is why I needed to get an automatic transmission. I learned on this board that the transmissions may be in short supply soon due to the Japan issues. Also required was the Cold Weather Package. For anyone else in the North East, you remember the past 2 winters.... I also had heated seats etc in the Volvo I'm trading in and I said I would never get another car without the option.
I ended up getting the last 2011 Club Automatic on the lot. It had everything on my required list and one thing I thought would be a nice to have the HK stereo, but once I heard it I decided it was a required option. (Remember the hour commute x2). It was included in the Premium Package which was part of the current incentive. I didn't find another car locally which included the Premium Pack so to feel like I got something for nothing - I decided to buy this baby. The only thing I didn't go in wanting in my new Mini was the color. It is Silver White with a black top, does anyone else have a this color??? I will be adding some stripes to the car but I'm not sure which I will get - any suggestions???
I asked the dealer how much they would give me for my 2004 Volvo S60 with >100,000 miles. It's in good shape but time for a new car. When he came back with $5,500 I said it was a deal. I didn't drive off the lot with my new Clubman but I'll be picking it up this week sometime.

Congrats on the MINI! I like the white Silver a lot. I'd go for the sport stripes (the ones that go right down the middle). They look a bit sportier than the two big stripes on the hood, which is what I have and I'm thinking of swapping.
I also had a 2004 Volvo (S60R). Great car, but spent a bit too much time in the shop and a gas guzzler. Congrats and enjoy! Welcome to the club!
