Reset Oil Light

I have had my mini for 3 glorious weeks now!
I took it in for an oil change and check (not at a MINI dealer, but at one that has worked on my other vehicles for many years)
They did a great job...but could not figure out how to reset the oil change mileage indicator...I too read (as did my husband) the manual and we can not find out how to reset this.
Any help would be much appreciated...Im sure it is probebly a simple thing..I also havent been able to figure out how to set the time...
I know....probebly pretty simple...but since everyone on here has been so super helpful thus far...I figured I could get the answers pretty quickly on here!
Your awesome MINI friends...so thanks in advance

Please tell what year and model. Tell what options etc you have in a signature. Go to User CP and Edit signature.

Setting the clock is in the manual
You can download a PDF from here: https://ol.miniusa.com/
(use your VIN to create an account).
You can use the search tool to find stuff in the manual in seconds.

For the OBC Oil interval. Not in the manual. I think I saw the procedure somewhere in NAM but it may have been for the 1st generation MINI.
Use the Forum search tool.

Resetting Oil Service Indicator on your '02 - '06 MINI

You didn't list what year you have but here is a procedure for '02-'06 MINI's.
My oil change interval hadn't been reset in years when I bought my MCS about 1.5 years ago although the previous owner had all the oil change records. So here is the procedure I found on line to reset it. I have used this procedure a number of times now (just last week again after I did an oil change) so I know it works.

1. Push the Trip Button
2. Turn ignition key to position 1 and 51A will appear to left of mileage
3. Release trip button
4. Wait 3 seconds
5. Push trip button
6. Wait (5-8 seconds) for RST to appear in left corner
7. Release trip button
8. Push trip button
9. 15000 will appear as new service interval (mine resets to 15500)
10. Release trip button

Thanks!!!

Thanks so much
I have a 2006 MCS with a bunch of Alta upgrades.
I have had it for 3 weeks now and am constantly learning new things!
I did check out the miniusa.com site and they had some great tips and videos even!
This is a great site! Everyone is super helpful!

help

I have a 08 r52, I have tried all 3 steps that were lisred online. I will not give the reset display. Is it really picky on the 3 second after you let off the button? I have been counting to 3. I had my oil changed at a local bmw dealer and I was at 14100 and now I am down to 13775.
