Just got my hands on a 06 CR/B MCS, had some questions on it. A step in the right direction would help. I guess my two questions are:
1.Where can I get my hands on a new disc for the navigation system?
and
2.(This is kind long so bear with me) The woman I bought the car from, bought the car when she was stationed in Germany, and had it shipped here to the states when she got stationed back stateside. This guy at my job claims some the mini's coming from across the pond are being built without a governor chip. My question is, is that true? If this is true, any info will help. And if this question has been asked/answered before could someone point me to the link? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks yall.

#2 If it was built US Spec (usually for military) and delivered over there it might have had some conversion to meet European standards like rear fogs etc, but the top speed governor would not be any different. Not sure of the 1st gen top speed but I know my R56 MCSa will pull 140 and has more room to go but it is limited by the computer (off of public roads of course, no breaking of the law allowed)
Thanks for all the help. It's much appreciated. This is also my first time driving a manual transmission car. Had some trouble getting out of first gear, but after that it was all right. Been practicing so I'm getting better, just still trying to figure out how not to roll backwards when at a stop. Yeah I've ran plenty redlights and stop signs in the last few days. I'm loving the car, suspension is kinda funny, is that typical of mini's?
Red light stops are not as bad if you don't panic. Rolling a bit backwards is not terrible and almost normal so don't get flustered.
The hand brake trick works too. Put in first with clutch and brake pedal pressed. Using the handbrake while pushing in the release button for the handbrake, get some tension on the brakes. Remove foot from brake pedal (you shouldn't move backwards). Give a bit of gas, let a bit of clutch out and when you hear the engine dip a bit, let off the handbrake and proceed normally.
This is standard proceedure for a bad hill or Ahole who is too close to you in rear if needed.
