Have you driven all the possible candidates? That'll be the surest way to get a handle on which way to go & which one is right for you.

I've driven two man. trans. and one clubman with auto.. No dought the man. is more fun I just don't know if that will ware off after awhile. My commute is about 10 miles one way. Semi rural, not back roads but not highway either. My concern with the auto is the reliability.
Love the forum. Thanks

FWIW, the auto trans to be wary of is the CVT. I have a 6-spd but from what I've read the auto - barring the CVT - has been pretty reliable.

You have a pretty short commute & are free of rush hour snarl (lucky you!), so it's not like you'll be going from N to 1st & back to N ad nauseum as in city traffic. That's a reason to go stick IMO.

It also depends: do you like to drive, or drive drive? I'm the latter so being in control of when the car shifts & what it does via manual tranny can't be beat. It's just right for an R53 - or really any S - giving you the connected, driver's car-feel that never gets old.

If you have a traffic free commute then go with the Manuel. The only reason you should get a auto is if you are always in traffic. Which is sadly my case

Thanks for the reply's. I agree I'll go with the man. Now I have decide between with the Clubman or the standard mini. I know it's only an extra 9" or so. But occasionally I will take my seventeen year old with us. I do like the
look of the mini S though. Is there any loss of performance or handling with the clubman.
