'Nutha SF Mini Head + Service Question

Hey all; I'm going through the initial motions of purchasing my first Mini ('11 MCS) here in the San Francisco Yay Area. SF Mini's doing alright by me so far; weirdest thing is having a salesperson who actually doesn't own a car. I respect that, but weird!

In the interest of just not being able to join a forum and ask a total newb question: If I purchase at dealer A, must I always go to dealer A for warranty service, or can I go to ANY dealer for warranty service? I work in SF but don't live there, so a purchase from a different dealer while being able to take it to SF for warranty repairs would be pretty ideal.

Glad to join NAM and ask for your patience, and I'll share what I know once I'm over the hump and motoring along happily!

Welcome to NAM! Any MINI dealer will do warranty work.

In retrospect, that was a pretty "duh" question. I blame Mini fever and single malt scotch. That's good news, though, frees me from the tyranny of over-MSRP prices! :D

More of a bourbon guy, but I understand the MINI fever. I ordered mine and had to wait 8 weeks!

Definitely check around at the (sort of) local dealerships. A friend bought one from Niello in Sacramento, as the price was much better than Mt. View (now Santa Clara.) I bought mine in VA and had warranty work done in Mt. View.

I have had work done at the dealership formerly known as MINI of Mt View, Mini of Universal City, MINI of Monrovia and MINI of the Main Line near Philadelphia, PA.

Rockin', thanks folks. I approve of flexibility (and bourbon, scotch, and rye, Melangell) so this thread is just filled with good news.

Hope to close the deal next week. My 2000 Impreza L Wagon is at 113k miles and in desperate need of retirement...
