same affliction here. . . I find reasons to go to the garage and catch a glimpse of the beautiful Chili Red sitting out there. . . The MINI has even inspired my husband to reorganize the garage . . .we plan on putting in some cool racedeck flooring (checkerboard) and painting an accent wall!

I had El Kabong for 5 years and 3 months and STILL would get all happy when I went to close the garage doors at night.
Looking forward to my HzB/B MCS in my garage soon....sigh.

Love the checkerboard scuttle!! I was thinking of adding some checker side panels, but may do what you did. Where did you get them?!?

Thanks!

Thank your lucky stars that you own a MINI, and have found NAM. You're among many who share your affliction. SOmething to be aware of, soon you will want to start making some "mods", y'know, to make it your own, so-to-speak.

Looking to add some checkered accents, but dont want them to fight with my bonnet stripes! Wpb's chili mini has check side scuttles and rear view mirror checkers...LOVE. The look. Need to find out where she got em. Looks like I could apply those myself. Also must find out where she got the checkered floor mats!

Thanks!

why thank you, Giggles! I have a weakness for the checkerboard, but I like mine to be more on the subtle side. I originally wanted the checkerboard roof and side mirror caps, but I have grown to love the sleek black roof, especially after I give Ladybug her weekly bath and detailing. So shiny! Plus, the black roof looks super cool with my dark tint, IMHO.

Anyway, you can get the side scuttles easily from Amazon.com. There are plenty of OEM parts dealers there, and some of them are listed here in NAM as well. Just look under the "vendors" section on NAM, or go to amazon.com and search "MINI Cooper" in the automotive section.

I have the checkerboard rearview mirror cover (I got it from an OEM parts dealer on Amazon.com). I also have the JCW checkerboard floor mats (so I can dream that my Justa is a JCW, wink-wink), checkerboard tag frame, checkerboard valve stem caps, checkerboard grille badge, checkerboard dash panels, and now the side scuttles. The badges were puirchased from www.gobadges.com, and the other items were purchased through Amazon.com. We installed the scuttles in 5 minutes, after looking up other NAM threads and youtube links demonstrating the installation process. Easy as pie!

Good luck! Have you posted pics of your baby yet?

They promise to check every day now and will tell me as soon as anything is updated. It got off the ship on thurs...they must be backed up! I am only at most 2 hrs from the ny vdc.

We found a way to avoid all those trips back and forth to the garage. We built a garage we can live in!

Geez I forgot all about that old thread when we built our garage. I think I found all that stuff by myself in the process!

Giggles sounds beautiful . . .

as for photos, I use my iPhone and it's a breeze.
1. snap pics from iPhone (or you could use any other smart phone with camera).
2. e-mail them to my private email account in pdf or jpeg format.
3. open the pics and save them to my desktop. If you don't have a smart phone, I bet you could just take digital pics with a regular digital camera and upload them directly to your iPad.
4. go to the NAM page, and click on "my gallery" on the left portion of the screen. Once there, you can select the option to upload photos, which is on the right side of the screen, and direct the system to the desktop (or wherever your photos are stored), and select them. So easy!

good luck, and keep lovin' your new baby!

Ok, didn't think it possible to love my Mini more, but today, here in Maryland the temps soared into the upper 60's. I drove all the way home from work, on winding, hilly country roads from work (lucky!) with my sunroof open....PURE BLISS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gonna buy her some checkered accessories reeeeeel soon!!!!!

Giggles,
I've had my little MINI for almost two years and my heart still skips a beat every time I open the garage door.
Have listened to wise cracks about being obsessed and it doesn't phase me at all. I keep on dusting, admiring and talking to it. Minikins always makes me smile.
We don't need therapy, we've got our little luvs.

Giggles,
Minikins is Chili red. Am considering getting the bonnet repainted and a new rear bumper. Not in any hurry and I've played around with stripes and the A panel. Just magnetic material. I change my mind a lot..

I know what you mean!! I love the checkered look, have the mirror caps, side scuttles and the checkered JCW floor mats. All of these can easily be changed out if I want a different look. Had them for months and still love the look. Don't see a lot of other MINI's with them. Also have bonnet stripes, that coordinate with my pinstripe outlined leather sport seats
