If this is wrong, then I don't want to be right..

Is it wrong, that after 2 weeks with my 2010 Mini Clubman, I open my garage door every half hour, or so, to just gaze upon my Horizon Blue beauty, "Giggles McMini"?

NEVER, have I been so obsessed by a car like this?! Do I need (or even want?) a twelve step program?

Anyone else this nuts...or nuttier?:eek2:

SilverMiniGirl Feb 14, 2011 03:54 PM

I have not even gotten my car (it's all in another thread...heh.) and I'm totally stoked....and excited and wanting to drive her...and she is about 1.5 hours away at the VDC since 2/10 (I think...) and I'm anxiously awaiting the call from the MA saying my car is coming in. At this point, I'm tempted to drive to Jersey City and pick her up myself...sigh. I'm wondering if there was damage done to the car, and that is why we are still in the dark.

My Husband thinks I'm totally insane. My co-workers are ignoring me...

Help!

bronxbomber252 Feb 14, 2011 03:56 PM

It's normal as far as I'm concerned... I still get like that with my S2000 after 2 years! What im really looking forward to though is opening the garage door to see my S2000 next to a beautiful new MINI!

Fly'n Brick Feb 14, 2011 04:07 PM

You didn't mention parking and getting a facing table so you can enjoy a good meal and your MINI at the same time. I'm sure you would have if you had thought of it.

05Greenie Feb 14, 2011 04:12 PM

is this wrong...

You suffer from "PTMS" "post traumatic MINI syndrome"

Welcome to the club...

GigglesMcMini Feb 14, 2011 04:14 PM

Hahahahaha.....I knew it! I love my fellow Mini Motorists, you ROCK! Thanks fir making me feel....normal?

Finner Feb 14, 2011 04:25 PM

Giggles,

Some not only open the door to look in the garage at their Mini....some look and give it the Mini Wave. I will worry about any that say their Mini waved back though. :impatient:

CFRM Feb 14, 2011 04:33 PM

Happens to me too, I've never been like this with any other car. Some times I sneak out in the night just to catch one last glimpse, makes my Girlfriend jealous...

LadyGodiva Feb 14, 2011 06:27 PM

Yeah, it's "normal".

FLY'N, I TOTALLY do that!! Already thought of that, sooo funny. We crack ourselves up...

CaptainSteve Feb 16, 2011 06:31 AM

Sames here, I've have my MINI for a little over 2 months now. I'm constantly finding excuses to have to go into the garage for something or better yet needing to run out and get something.

I've also found that all my trips even "short" runs to the store seem to have gotten much longer, and not because I'm driving slower

Soon, Silver, soon!! Thanks for keeping us updated.

Some of us were bitten by the bug a long time ago and things still haven't changed. I got my first MINI in 2003, and got a new one in 2005, and another in 2010 (not simultaneously) going from an MC to MCS to MCCS.

You're a perfectly normal MINI enthusiast.

Thanks, OctaneGuy, I have always loved the look of the Mini, with it's classic characteristics! Now with my kids grown with families on their own, I was able to indulge myself. At this point in my life (57!) I feel very lucky and blessed! Enjoying life to the fullest is my goal, and my Mini is just the beginning!!!

The MINI is an interesting phenomenon...it introduced people to the "enthusiast lifestyle". Many people were car enthusiasts but never knew it, until the MINI came along. Others have never worked on their car in their lives until the MINI came along, and suddenly they are interested in learning about tuning, brake changes, performance enhancements, washing and detailing their cars, lol.

For me, the MINI allowed me to do what I loved most. Being creative, and finding a path in life that allowed me to do what I enjoyed, and really unleashing the passion that I never truly knew existed in me.

It was the MINI that made me want to learn everything about polishing paint and taking care of it. I've always loved to teach and share knowledge.

It's great fun being a part of a community. Although it has changed quite substantially (evolved) from the early days, it's still a great thing to be involved in!

Congrats on finding something you can be passionate about!

Richard

Not abnormal at all. I've had the same car for going on six years now, and I still love looking at it, driving it, and listening to its 'massaged' intake and exhaust.

Doenene11 Feb 16, 2011 09:23 AM

I talk to Twoie, my 2011 Pepper White MCS. Love him Love him. It's been just a couple of months and I think I kiss him good night more than my husband. I swiffer him and talk to him...I see no problem with this.

I don't only open the garage door and look at Little Red Monster but at times I like to just sit and relax in it.

That is just too funny, I do the SAME thing. Now, do you thank your Red Monster after a nice ride? That's right, I actually say "Thank you, Sweetie, see you soon!"

My husband thinks Ive lost it...:impatient:
