I had some work done at Eurotech - that would be a good place to get it checked out, if you are so inclined.

I have only seen pictures of the car (coming in from Greenville). But it is a hardtop with less then 10K miles. According to what I could see and the information I was given it has the Premium, Convenience, Sport and Cold Weather packages. Horizon blue with a black top and mirrors. No stripes.

I'm curious as to what everyone would recommend for modifications. I would prefer not do go to drastic (I am just selling a 99 Honda Civic that has been heavily modified, Integra Type-R motor trans with supercharger, etc.). I would like to keep the modifications reasonable.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Any help is appreciated. I am looking for someone to do the normal servicing (other then Grayson if possible) here in Knoxville.

European Auto Garage on Sherway. My brother has been taking his BMWs to Rich for over 20 years.

Thank you! I will give them a try especially since they are right around the corner from where I work.

Don't forget about WMW, just a short 3 hour drive to Atlanta for expert Mini knowledge.

Well, I picked up the car this weekend, but I found out it did not have the Sport or Convenience packages. But I still bough it because after driving it I was hooked plus they took some money off the price.

I plan on taking it to have it checked over today or tomorrow at European Auto works. While I am there I will asked them about doing a tune on the car. The only other modification that I am considering at this time is gauges (oil pressure and water temp) and a short throw shifter. I was looking at the Cravenspeed gauges and shifter. Are there any other gauges or shifters that I should consider?

I went with a Garmin GPS with the Eco Route HD Adaptor. I used the Cravenspeed GPS mount. It will display 5 guages on the screen.

It is a easy install just plugs into the OBDII connection.

If you would like to see the set-up, I work over by the mall.

Took the car to them yesterday for a checkup to see if there are any issues. No issues found with the car. I was very impressed the level of detail of the inspection and the service. They dropped me off at work and came and picked me up when the car was ready (very nice). Spoke to them about modifications for the car and their general knowledge. I have recommended them to a co-worker who has a BMW.

The recommendation that I received from them for mods to the car and keeping it reliable were Intake, Exhaust and Tune. The price for these three modifications ~$2100. This does not seem to be out of line with the equipment that they quoted (Alta CAI, Borla exhaust (complete), and Tune). Any thoughts?

Well it depends....ALTA CAI is anywhere from $170 to $265 depending if its automatic and if you want to replace the hose. The Borla I think runs about $950 or so, and I hav eno idea about the tune, but you are looking at about $00 to $1000 is labor...at today's labor costs that is about 8 - 12 hrs.

Contact Way Motor Works http://www.waymotorworks.com/

Call him and talk to him about what you want out of the mods. He may be cheaper as well.

Right now I am just enjoying driving the car. My last project car seemed to spend more time in the shop then being on the road. I might just leave this one stock for a little while. But the Alta suspension package looks goood.

The good things about the mods you mentioned, intake, exhaust & tune is that there is no reason that it should be in the shop. Don't cheap out on the tune either, as there is a big difference in tuning. Go with someone who has done a whole bunch of Minis!
