Greetings from NC/NY
I've been posting for about a week now, but just took delivery this afternoon. Picked up my 2011 MC from MINI of Manhattan. Home base is actually Chapel Hill, NC though so I'll be heading to Flow MINI of Raleigh for my service, when I need it.
I'm not too great with a standard transmission and so my 16 mile trip home to Queens was filled with much embarrassment as I stalled at least a dozen times. There was traffic the whole way down the LIE. :( The clutch is real heavy. I'm going to have to get used to it.
Meet Amy.

Welcome!
Congratulations! This place look familiar.
I picked up my MINI there in 2009. Running smooth since.

You will get used to that manual stick soon. Enjoy! I have a buddy in Chapel Hill will visit him in June. Let's go for a run to Duke's Gardens.

Hey Vlad, good to see that yellow MINI again.
jcsoccer12, when you get Amy back to North Carolina, make sure to take Jeff's advice. The guys down at Tar Heel MINI's are great! I've had a blast at every event I've been to with them. If you find yourself in Virginia, make sure you check out Hampton Roads club MINI, www.hrmini.com
And congratulations on the MINI!

Mellow Yellow
I'm a native New Yorker, I lived and worked in Manhattan my whole life,
I'm now retired living in North Carolina.
I did a test-drive of a Mini S at Manhattan Mini/BMW in Dec 2008.
When the Mini S with the "Sport Turbo Charge" engaged leapt out with no hesitation to
get onto the West Side Highway, I knew this was the car for me.
I bought a home in Pittsboro and was planning to move to North Carolina in February of 2009,
I took delivery of my Mini from Flow Mini in Winston Salem,
and saved some money on the sales taxes, 6% vs 8.25%.
Because of my location, I now bring my Mini in for service to Flow MINI of
Raleigh which is much more convenient than Winston Salem.
Driving around the Tri-Angle I have seen several Mini's similar to mine.
Mini no long offers the "Mellow Yellow" paint color, which I think was a mistake,
but on the other hand, it makes my Mini that much more special.
Happy and Safe Motoring.

I was given North Carolina's 3% highway use tax (not technically a sales tax)! Made the deal even better. Looking forward to joining the Tar Heel MINI Motoring Club.
