Well hello everybody!
Just picked up a nice R53 this past Friday.

A little about myself first.
I'm from Oklahoma, used to be big into Mustang's and into a nice club here, decided I wanted something else. Drove this mini and fell in love with it!

Now about the car!

2003 Cooper S
Electric Blue Metallic
Lapis Blue leather
JCW kit
I believe it has every option other than Navigation :-)
77k miles, paid $9k for it from a big dealership here. They had no idea about the car, or anything about the JCW package.

A few little issues with the car, but nothing major. Drivers lock actuator is out and needs replaced is the biggest one. Luckily i'm very good with working on cars and shouldn't be an issue to replace it for me.

Now for a really crappy picture!(I'm a photographer, just don't have my equipment with me this weekend, so my Nexus One will have to do for now)

If you should need OEM parts for your Mini, I would suggest penskparts.com. The parts list is quite thorough.

so a big UGH today.

atleast i'm doing some work on the car:-D

found out the power steering is going out last night. whining pretty loud at times and also leaking. Couldn't tell if it was oil or not, so jacked up the car and its ONLY coming from the PSP.
Good news is that from what I can see, there are no other leaks besides that.

I greased up the sunroof today, as it was AWFUL to close. MUCH better now.

Also cleaned up the airfilter. Holy crap was it bad. most dirty filter i've ever seen! I've got a promini intake and i dont think the filter had been cleaned in a couple years :-/

I've got a replacement drivers door lock actuator on order as mine is bad. Plan on installing that on Saturday

so yah :-/


also, guess I should list the first mods i'll be making to the car :-D

I've got a set of redlinegoods shifter and ebrake boots on the way. Had them on 3 previous Ford Mustangs and they are the best boots i've ever seen.


future plans include some suspension mods including JCW springs, bilstein struts/shocks, rear anti-swaybar, front strut tower brace, and jcw brakes.
I'm really liking the R99 wheels, but not sure about them as I may want to go with the 4pot jcw calipers and I know they won't fit well with those wheels :-/
