Hello from Texas

Just ordered my first mini after giving my youngest my RAV. My hot chocolate Clubman S should be here in early January. Went to drive a BMW 1 series but ended up placing order for new mini. This site has been great for a newbie, look forward to sharing once mine is in.

Welcome! Maybe we'll eventually have enough people on the forum from Texas to have a Texas event. What part of the Great State will you be motoring in?

Welcome to the forum, I don't suppose BMW will regret the lost 135 sale, you kept it in the family.

Welcome to the MINI world, BC! I'm currently stuck out here in far West Texas.

About a Texas event: Members of the MINIUSA Owners Lounge got together a few years and we had a run in the Hill Country. We called it "MINI Takes the Republic of Texas" and we had the best time. I could see another run just in the Hill Country and/or some type of cross country run. I-10 from Kerrville to the El Paso County line(about 500 miles) is an 80 mph zone but that is not really a run. The Fort Davis area has a nice scenic route but it is heavily patrolled by DPS due to events along the border. With so many places to motor here in Texas, I would like to see a good event organizer to get a nationally recognized run here. MINIfundrives in the Houston area organizes runs but will they want to go national and take on all of the headaches involved?

Depending on where you are in TX, you might find http://www.metroplexmini.org interesting.

A Texas get-together may be tough to organize, seeing how it's 850 miles from Juarez to Orange...

Welcome aboard... Love the Chocolate Brown...
