New and already tackling a project

Hello NAM,

This isn't my first day on your forum, but it is my first official thread. I've always considered MNIs to be unique and they've held a special interest to me. My first project car was a 1996 honda civic, which I replaced the motor, changed the front end, added power windows, and did numerous other upgrades for. One in particular that I enjoyed was putting TL projectors into the headlights. My goal was to make it a daily drive track car, mainly SCCA for fun. Unfortunately last winter someone smashed my front end.

Now I'm the proud owner of a 2002 MINI and loving it! I love it the way it is and will probably leave it mostly stock. I am however missing the amazing headlights I once had. My second thread will be modifying my headlights. I Hope you NAM members will be able to help me along the process as I delve into the unknown (for me).

Welcome. I have long wanted to get some projectors as well, but don't want to spend the money to get oem ones and don't have the cahones(sp) to modify my headlights. Good luck and post pics along your way!

Why not buy a set of OEM xenon lights? They are legal & won't blind other road users. Those converted lights many in the Honda community have are just dreadful for other road users.

Just my .02, congrats on your MINI!

Thanks for the words guys, I get reminded how special MINIs are when fellow owners wave at me in traffic.

If your talking about people that put HID bulbs into Halogen housings, then yea I totally agree with you, they are dreadful and I'll admit I myself used it for a few months since the factory '99 civic had terrible output. I did end up retrofitting in projectors from a Acura TL which was amazing for driving. After the accident I still have them so I'd like to try to do the same for my MINI
