Hi guys. My girl friend and I will soon be the owners of a Mini Cooper.
We hope to purchase a red 2006 Mini S this weekend.
I have been working on early model BMW's sins I was 18 (now 24). I have owned a '74 2002, a 1991 318i, a 1987 325e, and I now own and am working on another '74 2002.
If anyone would like to share any info on things to look out for on '06 S Mini's let me know.
Both my girl friend and I would like to perform some modification on the Mini starting with some rally lights and some BBS LM reps.
If anyone wants to check out the other cars I have owned and the '02 I have now I have the same user name on the 2002 FAQ page and R3Vlimitted.

Cheers guys!

When I got my 06 MCS I did the following:

Installed . . . . . .

a new coolant tank.

new spark plugs

changed the coolant

changed the power steering fluid

installed new air & cabin filters

replaced the hose clamps on the PS lines

I am planning to change the front motor mounts ( top & bottom )

watch out for oil pan gasket leaks

Now enjoy your new MINI !

it just got a service recently, so it should be good on most of those things.
i do how ever understand from reading a few things that the coolant overflow tanks and power steering pump/and fan give out.
why are the cabin air filters such a big deal?

The cabin filter is not a big deal but when I removed mine it looked like
it was from a 10 year old car.
Just remember it filters the incoming air that you smell so . . . . . .
its your choice

So I got the car today! Grate driver. Sadly it wont be registered and insured till Tuesday .
Got some simple pictures of it next to the some one ells's Mini S. Guess he lives next doer.

The plan for now is fix all the road rash. Any tips on the best way to do that (favorite paint kit/products).
Then some rally lights and BBS LM wheels and some nicer tires. Then maybe some more power!
Where should I start a build thread, and where can I find my recent posts.
The other forum I am part of uses the same forum lay out as this one, and has a user window where you can find all posts start by you, and all posts posted in by you. Anything like that around here? Can't seam to find it.

Cheers guys!
