new here.. first car first mini... nj
ive always been in love with the car. ever since we got the cooper s convertible back in 05 i think. i almost cried as a young teen watching that thing go.
when the car search started the mini wasn't even in question but with lots of thought and searching it kept popping up in my mind, how much i would love to drive the mini.
so the search started for a nice cooper S. as a young man, i want superchargers and HORSEPOWER. but it wasnt easy finding one in my budget range. the search went on for a long time. and every cooper S i saw was just a tad to high in price.
my stepfather suggested i get in a cooper to feel the difference, lucky me, a neighbor has one and took me out on an awesome fun drive. i was speechless. i had no idea the regular mini had so much power. sure the supercharger would be great for some things but still my jaw dropped when i felt the power of the 2nd and 3rd gear kick in going up S.O. ave.
my mind was changed, i figured... really... its only a 40 HP difference and it still handles the same and is built with the same parts.
lucky me there were tons of pretty little coopers in my price range. we set of on a journey to find a nice little used cooper. i fell in love with a little adorable british racing green cooper with the white top and white mirrors. not my favorite of color schemes but.......
it was love at first site! 5speed sport package and premium package new rubber all around, all new brakes, new hefty exhaust which makes the most beautiful purr ive ever heard from a cooper. dual sun roofs to get the hair flowing, karmin speakers, sporty little wheels, comfy race style seats the added sport stability control and a huge bonus for me the factory installed roof rack clips, saving me a nice chunk of money on those. oh and not to mention those heated leather seats =]
im ecstatic and over whelmed with joy. finally the perfect little car for me. im always gonna wish it was the S but come on the price couldn't be beat and neither could the options.
now i just have to really get my manual driving skills up to par
btw im out in maplewood nj

Well if you cant make the run then come to the Nj meadowlands, i will be there after the statue of Liberty run, there is an autocross event with the Porsche club, I will be instructing in the afternoon and can help you out if you want with shifting.
good luck with the car

took my first solo drive today.. no stalling a little bucking but hey its like my 4 time driving stick. over all im ecstatic and filled with joy. finally im free. me and my mini.
the 2002 mini how long is the life on the battery. i have a feeling mine is still original. if i have the car on but not not the engine on it drains the battery pretty fast to the point where i can barely turn the car on
