Held Captive at the VDC

I ordered my 2010 MCS on May 6, 2010. It arrived at the VDC in Brunswick, GA on June 23rd. My MA told me it would be here any day. Finally on July 7th I received an email saying it had a punctured tire and it was being replaced that day after being there for three weeks. Heard nothing until July 15th when I was forwarded an email from someone at BMWUSA saying that in fact in had a punctured tire and a damaged wheel. They were waiting for "parts" to repair it. It has now been at the VDC for 23 days supposedly to replace a wheel and tire. I have no idea when it will be fixed or when I will get it. Anyone else have a similar experience? Any suggestions on what I should do? Would you worry about more extensive damage?
Thanks for any help.

Sorry man...that's really unacceptable. The build/track experience is fun and exciting to a point and also a little painful. When I ordered mine I was left behind at the shipping port and missed two vessels and then remained at the VPC for an extra week. They said it was because of the volume of cars because it was the beginning of the model year. I don't believe it should take three weeks to get a tire & wheel. Something's rotten at the VPC. Good luck & keep us posted...

Reject the MINI, either Re-order or find another Manufacture, let the Dealer know that this is Unacceptable!! The time frame for a normal MINI Delivery is nothing like what you have experienced and the Fact that your Dealership is not keeping you informed is ludicrous!!

I would talk with the dealer and ask the MA to supply the repair records for the vehicle. If there was no damage during shipping, a tire/wheel replacement should take 24-48 hours.

With our last Clubman, the roof was not what we ordered and rejected it.

If the MA is not delivering a good intel, ask for the Sales Manager and then the General Manager.

Good luck with your issue

The 2010 models use a different TPMS device. It is possible that the supply chain is empty of replacement parts. But it does seem that there could be a bit more reliable information on the car's status.

I'd lean on the dealership to give the entire story. You don't want to begin your customer relationship on this basis.

I appreciate everyone's input. I'm suppose to get an update today after the dealership talks to the regional sales rep.
