Quick question

I have ordered my MINI and it is now at the dealership, and will be picking it up on Friday or Saturday.

Since I have already ordered it back in June, am I only eligible for financing specials/special offers that were available when I ordered? Or will I be able to take part in any offers that could apply to what I ordered when I go pick it up and do all the paper work?

Thanks!

Hey, Luthientier,

My wife and I just picked up her new 2010 MCS which we ordered on April 30th. At the time of order, we had settled on a price with the dealer. By the time the MINI came in to port and was delivered to the dealership in late June, a new set of offers were available for that month and the dealer was kind enough (and honest) to extend an even better offer which saved us (in the end) about $500. I would check with your specific MA. If they are on the up and up, they should extend current programs to you upon delivery.
Not sure if all operate the same but we had a great experience at MAG (Midwestern Auto Group) in Dublin, OH.
Hope that helps! Good luck with the new ride!

Thanks a lot MandB!

I will definitely email my MA, it couldn't hurt! Plus I am trying to be more proactive for myself, since it is my money.

I could pick up my MINI anytime now, but I am getting lots of overtime from this week, so I really want to have that go towards my down payment.

Right now, waiting is killing me, knowing the little bugger is just 30 minutes away from me.

Oh, by the way, I will be moving back to Ohio in the next couple of months, where's Dublin at? I'm a northeastern Ohioan. Salem, Ohio. About 20-30 minutes from Youngstown(I do not and have not lived in youngstown though!)

I ordered mine in late May (when there was no incentive applicable to me) and went to the dealership yesterday to turn in my credit app. The dealer said they will apply the MINI financing incentives as they exist at the time of taking delivery. It looks like I will take delivery somewhere near the end of the week (give or take July 9) and will get the 1.9% and free premium package.

Looks like you would still have a bit of a ride to get to Dublin. Check the link below for a general idea of the Salem to Dublin run.

That's great!

I'm hoping that my dealership will take part in the one free package option that I saw mentioned in another thread somewhere. I don't think they are because their site doesnt mention it. But, I am going to bring it up anyways.

That is a little bit of a drive!

Sadly I rarely go to the Columbus area.

The thing to realise is the dealership isn't Mini...as far as money goes. Any mini incentives are "free money" not coming from either party. Since there is a certain transparency in auto transactions these days, the dealership can give you what is best for you.

In the old days, when things were less open, they might have been tempted to apply for the rebates, and keep them for profit if they improved. I am pretty sure you will have to sign documents for any mini money, so they can't do it easily anymore.

You should be able to get the best of what was available when ordered, or what is available now, without much trouble.

When I ordered my Clubman in Dec. '09 the dealer told me upfront that I could only use the finance offer in force at the time of delivery. The offers changed 2X before I took delivery in Feb '10. In my case it turned out that the deal was better at delivery time. (3.9% + free option OR 1.9%). I chose 3.9% + option because for me it was less $ over the life of the loan. Just lucky that I had ordered one of the listed options.

I have read, in NAM I think, that MINI has been more lenient in recent months by locking in the interest rate at time of order.

Well, I talked to my MA and mentioned the free option deal I saw. He told me that it was really only for in-stock MINIs, not orders, but said he would look into it for me.

So, he emails me later on and lets me know that they will not charge me for the automatic transmission option I had.

I will be picking up my MINI Saturday morning! I am getting extremely excited! Especially to not have to drive the POS car I have right now! 2004 Grand Am, that has security issues that really can't be fixed, so randomly the car will not start and I will have to sit inside it, with the key on, in Virginia's sweltering heat for ten minutes! Yahoo!

Thanks again for the help!
