looking forward to the obsession ('03 R50)
Hi all.
I'm really excited to have joined the world of MC owners! I'm 3 weeks into my love affair with my new-to-me '03 R50
It's lived its life in Florida so far and only had 45k miles on it when I bought it three weeks ago (it's got over 48 now!!), so hopefully rust and mileage are not issues even though its seven years old.
After doing my homework and driving a few, I decided to buy a base model.
I know the risk with this vintage is the British-engineered brittle-geared 5-speed manual tranny. Time will tell on this.
But I'm really happy that the car is as tight and quiet as it is fun and good looking.
Looking forward to the obsession.

Thanks for the advice on the transmission. That's assuring. I'm not inclined to drive this car hard anyway (except on the rare occasion when I feel like tossing it around a bit--but that doesn't happen very often and doesn't have to be hard of the tranny).
That's part of the beauty of these cars IMO, they are as much fun to drive gently as they are to toss around.
