To buy Service warantees or not to buy warantees
I am about to embark on a new journey in my life, to own my first mini. 2009 Clubman S, Chocolate - Used with 12k miles.
Question is now, should I buy service warantees for it. These are the various ones I am looking at. I dont know the cost of new pads or tires, so anyone who has experience with their mini, I would love to learn about their expenses and what i should be ready for. ie is the maintenance program worth the $1,500? or should I just be ready to shell out a few hundred down the road for new pads.
Price $3,090 - Dealership/3rd party warantee
The local Carsense (used dealership i bought the car from) - They have numerous shops and dealerships and can have my mini serviced at any mini or carsense. If I go to BMW/Mini to get serviced it is a $100 deductible. Bumper to bumper warantee is for 5 years from date of purchase or 100k total miles. I can purchase this any time before 24k
Price $1,329 - Total Care Warantee
Carsense also offers whats called a total care package. 5 years from date of purchase to cover to following: 1. any hazard tire/rim damage, 2. dents and dings (with no deep paint damage) up to 3 in. 3. Interior seat damages/stains up to 6 inches. 4. replacement of lost keys. 5. Roadside assistance. 6. Windshield chipping due to glass.
Price $2,618 | $2,140 - MINI - 3rd party Bumper to Bumper Warantee
Ultra - Service, 3rd party subsidiary from Ottos Mini for 72 month/100k miles for $2,618. 60 month/100k $2,140
Price $1,500 Mini maintenance program - Mini does all my checkups, brake changes, pads, rotors, etc. 5 Years, 100k.
Thanks!
Chris
