COST $$$$$$$$$$$$$$
COST $$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Hello Mini Owners just for an idea (FUTURE PLANNING) at a dealer what does it Cost $$$$$ for a brake job clutch replacement water pump replacement fuel pump replacement also on a guess how much mileage should you get on these items on normal wear & tear before you have to replace them THANKS FOR THE (HELP) KEEP MOVIN" MINIINHD
Are these repairs actually on your radar ? If so, I would find a qualified mechanic to do the work if you can't. Dealers go by itemized "book hours" for each, where as some of your repairs can be somewhat combined as the break down of the car ( called service mode ) can be combined for some of the repairs you mentioned here.
FYI clutch work on MINI's will take most self employed mechanics about 7 hrs...more if the dealer is doing the work.
If water pump is being replaced, ( attached to the Supercharger ) It would make sense to have the supercharger serviced same time, drop in a rebuilt SC or a good used one after inspecting the SC oil levels. And if you have some mileage on the MINI, replace radiator hoses while in there, check thermostat and crank sensor for leaks/seepage.
If the clutch is being done, have the crank seal checked and replace the oil pan gasket if it's seeping.
I have seen some clutch jobs at 15K miles and some MINI's with mileage over 100K on original clutch.
I had 91K miles on my SC and water pump no issues and would still be in today except I had a new JCW SC in the closet and when I had some other work done, swapped the pump and SC out. Upon inspecting the SC oil levels and water pump, it was all like brand new still.
So to answer as to how long each part(s) lasts......that depends.

Welcome, those jobs can be expensive at the dealer. Maybe let us know where you are at and we can refer you to some aftermarket shops that are good and would be alot cheaper. I know we always beat the dealer prices, alot of times they are CRAZY.
IMO, once a car is out of warrenty, there are very few jobs that you should let the dealer do on your car.
Most of the items you list are run on what most folks say are "on condition". Simply put, modern auto parts are so good, you generaly let them do their jobs till they, er, don't do their jobs anymore. Some items do wear in normal use...but when it is time to repair/replace them it is obvious....brakes, tires, etc....a good shop will help you consodlate jobs that should be done at the same time.
Remember, a good independant shop will use OEM, or better parts when avalable...and the guys doing the work at a good mini-centric shop will usually have more experance than the dealer guys....who sometimes are pretty fresh from school, doing repairs buy the "numbers" with the step by step guides from the manfacturer....once they really know and learn their craft....they move on in many cases. Dealers do have some very experanced folks around...most often in supervisory roles, or doing only the most complex repairs and troublesooting.

clutch
raven,
sorry but you are very mistaken about the 7 hours.
Book is 10 just to r&r the engine assy and another 5 or so for accessing
and r&r the clutch itself which is why most dealers get 2k labor for the job and since i did my own and had a two post lift, i will assure you it is not for the faint of heart.
could you find an independent shop less expensive ? sure.
JMHO
MIKE
Ps. Since "book' time was brought up I also want to let you know that time is the avg tech time, not some pie in the sky to rape the customer of cash. am a certified master tech and pretty good at what i do. It took me 24 hours to R&R the engine assy, change the water pump, change the change the clutch and flywheel to solid by the way, flush residue from the s/c and cooler, install new pan gasket, new timing sensor, new axle seals, new timing belt, pressure wash it all down clean while it was out and bleed that god forsaken clutch cylinder!!!
