I hope you haven't done anything silly (like order a car that is NOT Sparkling Silver!). I was all set to order a Astro Black/White S when I saw a SS on the lot, and the rest, as they say, is history. LOVE the Sparkling Silver choice; haven't regretted it even once. And to this day, I am still the only SS-owner in our club, so it is fun to be unique. There are way too many PWs and DSs!

My wife has an SS and I agree, it's a very nice color. It gives the car a refined look I think. Of course, I couldn't get the same color as her so I opted for the dark silver and even though I agree there are a LOT of DS's out there, I don't mind since there are a lot of subtle (and not so subtle) mods I want to do to make it more personalized. That's the great thing about MINI's right?

You car does rock! I must admit that I've been following your posts and really enjoy reading all the mods that you've done and discussed. The RMW-tune-provided flutter took a little getting used to, but your last video post at night really made it sound awesome.

Anyway, I don't want to be guilty of hijacking a thread.

I think the SS is nice, but for someone else. It's not my style. Actually I can't even get the color that is my style. How frustrating.

See I never see DS Mini's. I actually rarely see them at all. Last week, on the way to the dealer I saw a green one. Yesterday I saw a PW and CR following each other. That's the most mini's I've seen in such a short time span.
So I have yet to see a DS driving around. I wonder how many people will have one at a club meet.

The color choice was a hard decision, there were a few such as the green, black, silver and blue that were not an option. I originally wanted the pepper white , hubby liked the nightfire, but once I saw the chili pepper red with the black trim I was sold..... The Orlando mini just happened to have the color combo and packages we wanted and so happens she came with the black rims. I wasn't too excited over them but they really make the car.
I have no regrets changing my mind to the red from the pepper white.

Wow, I guess most MINIs go to heaven when they die eh? Around here it seems like the most popular colors are (in no particular order) Pepper White, Dark Silver, Chili Red, and British Racing Green. I'm not trying to sway you one way or the other, but the SS in person looks a LOT better than any pictures I've seen. But if you know SS isn't your color then at least you can mark it off your list.

You just got it recently right? I thought I remembered either seeing your post and looking at your pics or just finding your pics. Peggy is awesome. I hope she brings you much happiness. Like I said before, I really wish my car was on a lot somewhere.

Maybe they do.

You're in the Bay Area right? I'm in NY. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. But around here, there are a lot of silver, black and blue cars- just not Minis.

Yeah, that could be it. I work in San Francisco and when I drive to and from the office I probably see no less than 10 MINI's on the road. You'd think that'd be a good thing, but I swear I get a 0% return-on-wave in SF. It seems like if there are fewer around, they tend to be more enthusiastic. So hopefully that's the case where you live.

I understand your disappointment with the current lineup of Justa colors. Ordinarily, I would have shopped like you described--find the car with the features that work and don't worry about the color. However, I really wanted to take advantage of the pick-&-choose youification, starting with the Oxy Blue. Now I'm wishing I coulda bought two and kept one as a spare--I do love that color! So I can understand your hand-wringing over your choice. Just know it'll be fun no matter what color you choose. OR maybe you should wait until MINI revs up the lineup a little...

Good luck-keep us posted!

Wow that's a lot of Minis! I'm sure I'll get a wave here, but it might be the middle finger wave.

Actually, I'm looking for an S Hardtop. It doesn't seem to just be the model I'm looking at. It seems like there's lack of color excitement across almost all the models.
Today it looks like dark silver. I could wake up at 3 am and change my mind all over again though.

"I have decided against the red as I'd like to keep from being a ticket target."

I've been driving red cars and trucks all my life and never got a ticket for driving red. I don't think it's a target.

Since the Mini has such a classic look I wanted a classic color, something you would see on a car from the 50's. That's why I chose oxygen blue. Of all the classic colors I think it's the most unusual. You just don't see that color very often, except in Elvis movies

I'll throw my vote in for laser blue. Although it seems it's not even on your list of choices! Myself, I like the laser blue and black combo. If I were to choose another mini I know I would have a hard time choosing between another laser blue and a dark silver with the red leather interior.

Go for the faster, less common as muck, Mellow Yellow.

Thank you for all the great suggestions. I ended up going with black. And someday soon, I hope she'll have some purple stripes.

My second choice .
It looks great with a black roof but get the sunroof of you'll be running AC all the time.

Actually, studies have shown that more yellow cars get tickets then red.

Dark silver was my first choice, but I found my Chili Red on a lot and fell in love! The Red/Black combo w/sport stripes is super sexy... I even tend to coordinate my wardrobe with my MINI!

Black is sexy too! Congrats on your purchase!

All black no sunroof, regular ac. The very few boring options I picked are in my siggy.

They do great work but they're in Phoenix and I'm in NYC. I have to find a closer place to do it.
