Oh poo; no car today, apparently the carrier won't complete his rounds today. MA tells me probably tomorrow (I wonder how long the trucks take to make their rounds?) The good news is that my MA tells me I can lock in the 1.9% rate!

Too bad, the weather here in NE is GLORIOUS right now, and supposed to be 80 tomorrow. Perfect for top-down motoring!!!

 

My MA in Peabody told me that the model has changed... last year, the eligibility for a rate was determined on the day you took shipment. Now, it's determined by when you placed the order. So yes, they should be giving you the 1.9 regardless.

Has anyone else heard something that agrees with or contradicts this?

 

Oh - what a heartbreak!!!! Doesn't the carrier know that you are waiting for that car! Hang in there and I'll cross my fingers for tomorrow!!!! Good news on the rate!

 

Thanks for the moral support! Today was so nice, hopefully tomorrow will be nicer I can't imagine how a carrier that left NYC last night could take so long getting to my dealership; it isn't as if there are that many MINIs that can fit on a carrier, and there aren't that many MINI dealerships in the NE region. Oh, well.

The other bad news is that the guy who does the invisishield doesn't work weekends, so I have to wait until next week to get that done. There's no way that I am going to forgo taking delivery for the weekend, though!

 

My MA says my MINI is about 10 days away... Seems to be a little bit longer than everyone else... Wouldn't think it would take that long to get to Boston.

Woo hoo! My MA just called, the car arrived this morning and I can pick my new MINI up at 2pm, TODAY! It's a PERFECT day for top down driving, sunny and should be in the low to mid 80s. I'll post pics soon as I can.

She e-mailed me today and said my MINI is at the dealer! Although still almost a month before I get to pick it up. She's going to send me a picture on Monday or Tuesday to tide me over.

 

Why can't you pick it up for a month? Are you still on the West Coast?

Had a BLAST but the afternoon was too short, we managed to get there, pick up and then we had a round trip from RI to home and back for an early evening tennis match.

I only managed a couple of pics with the iPhone... I'll work on more with a real camera soon.

I brought my nano with a newly designed playlist of songs that captured the driving/riding/highway theme perfectly, and my wife and I had the top down all afternoon. The car is awesome! I couldn't be more pleased so far.

Yep, we leave Portland and arrive in Boston on May 30 so we are hoping to be able to pick it up on May 31. I tried to time it, but it went quicker than I expected.

Yeah, it's tough. This whole thing is so obsessive and it's like the MINI is just out of reach...

Very, very nice chris! I was checking the weather for Mass the other day and it looks like you'll have some nice warm days to play with the top down.
By the way, did you go to Herb Chambers or MINI of Peabody?
